#2 - At Home Series - Courtney Adamo

In this second article of our "At Home" blog series, we are honoured to have a glimpse at Courtney Adamo's beautiful home.

Courtney Adamo
Meet Courtney Adamo.

Courtney is known for her impeccable fashion, home style, beautiful family and desirable lifestyle on the outskirts of Byron Bay, NSW. She is a do-it-all businesswoman: she is an author, a blogger (she is the co-founder of Babyccino) and also runs courses about motherhood and family life.

We are so happy to have Courtney Adamo on this series. Have a read below on her home styling approach.

1. Tell us a bit about you. What’s your creative field, style, passion etc?

I’m a mother of five and we live in Bangalow, in Byron Bay’s hinterland. I’m a journalist, author and blogger and have been working in the family lifestyle sphere for more than 15 years now. My biggest passion is connecting with other parents and continuing to learn and grow as a mother. I create and facilitate online courses and eBooks for parents, which brings together a community of parents where we can share and learn together. My most recent course focuses on Tweens & Teens, which of course is really relevant to me now that I have three teens myself. You can read more about what I do and discover my courses over at www.courtneyadamo.com

2. How does your creativity play into your home aesthetic?

Decorating our home is definitely a passion. I have always loved creating spaces that are a reflection of myself and my family. I hope that when people walk into our home they get a sense of who we are, where we’ve traveled, what our passions are, what art we love, what books we’ve read, etc. I also want our home to feel cosy and inviting.

3. What Capra Designs products did you choose and why?

I chose the Roma Pot in the Fossil colour, which I love. I put some cuttings from a really quirky plant I received for my 40th birthday in this pot, and I love the way it looks. I also chose the Dome Eros Pot in the Terracotta colour, which I love because it has a wider space for a variety of succulents. Lastly, I chose the Small Archie Pot because I thought it would look cute paired with the Dome Eros Pot in my laundry room.

Courtney chose to elevate her Roma Pot in Fossil on a beautiful wooden stool.

4. What role does colour play in your home decor?

I love having colourful accents in our home. Our walls are all painted white, which creates a very neutral palette to add playful hints of colour throughout. I love the red terracotta colour of the pot in our laundry room as it really stands out against the white walls.

The Dome Eros Pot in Terracotta stands out against the white walls.

5. What do you love about living with plants?

I can’t take all the credit for the house plants as this is definitely my husband, Michael’s passion. He’s the one with the green thumb and is often found out in the garden or inside repositioning or re-potting house plants. But of course we all reap the benefits because a house full of plants is not only healthy, but it’s quite calming and beautiful too. I love that we have house plants in nearly every room of our house.

A gorgeous succulent composition is potted in the Dome Eros Pot.
